Donate

We are self-financing as a parish and need to raise funds for all our needs. These include supporting our Priest in Charge, maintaining our buildings and funding our activities. We do not receive any subsidies from the Archdiocese or the wider church.

How to give

We would be most grateful if you would consider donating to our Parish. You can do so in the following ways:

  • Set up a monthly standing order
  • Make individual payments online
  • Use our digital collection plate using a debit card or Apple Pay
  • Complete weekly envelopes
  • Give cash in the collection plate passed around at Mass

Consider a standing order

The majority of our parishioners are happy to set up a monthly standing order. This means your bank will automatically send the amount you wish to donate each month straight to the Parish account. Donations via standing orders allow us to plan ahead with greater certainty.

If you would be happy to do this, please download the Standing Order form and return it to us at the Parish Office.

Gift Aid

If you are a UK tax payer, you can claim gift aid relief on your donations. This helps both us and you:

  • The Government refunds your basic rate of tax to the Parish account. For every £10 that you contribute HMRC will pay the Parish £2.50 in Gift Aid, making the value of your contribution £12.50.
  • If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can claim back from HMRC the higher rate of tax paid on your Gift Aid donations.

The digital collection plate allows you to Gift Aid your donations automatically. You only need to enter your details once and it will remember them and apply Gift Aid to all your subsequent donations.

Planning your Visit

Visitors

Welcome to our parish! We hope you have an enjoyable stay, and that while you're with us you'll be able to attend Mass at one of our two churches.

On the weekend there is Mass at the Sacred Heart in Goudhurst on Saturday evening at 5:30pm, and on Sunday morning at 10:30. Mass is celebrated at St Barnabas in Hawkhurst at 8:30am on Sunday mornings. For locations and parking details see the Mass times page.

If you're here on the first Sunday of the month we'd love to meet you over tea or coffee after the Sunday masses.

Weekday masses are celebrated on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday - see the Mass times page for more details.

If you would like to speak to our priest in charge while visiting, please contact the Presbytery using the details on the Contact us page.
